How to Pass a Funded Trader Evaluation in 2026 (Without Blowing the Account)

Funded trader programs give you access to serious capital — but most traders fail the evaluation. Here is the exact framework BJ uses to pass consistently.

How to Pass a Funded Trader Evaluation in 2026 (Without Blowing the Account)

The Real Reason Most Traders Fail Evaluations

It is not strategy. It is not indicators. It is not even the market.

Most traders fail funded evaluations because they treat the evaluation like a demo account — no real consequences, no real discipline. They over-leverage, revenge trade after a loss, and blow the account in the first week.

The funded evaluation is a test of your psychology, not your strategy.

The Framework That Works

1. Risk 0.5% Per Trade — Maximum

During an evaluation, your only job is to not lose. Profit is secondary. Set your max risk per trade at 0.5% of the account. This keeps you in the game long enough to let your edge play out.

2. Set a Daily Loss Limit and Honour It

Most prop firms have a daily drawdown limit. Set your personal limit at half of that. If you hit your personal limit, close the platform and walk away. No exceptions.

3. Trade Only Your A+ Setups

An evaluation is not the time to experiment. Write down your three best setups. Only take those. If the setup is not there, do not trade.

4. Journal Every Single Trade

The 30-Day Trading Checklist in the Yoohaanan resource library exists for this reason. Every trade gets logged — entry, exit, reason, emotion, result. Review it every Sunday.

5. Treat It Like Real Money

The moment you stop treating the evaluation account like real money, you start making emotional decisions. Visualise the capital as yours. Trade accordingly.

The Psychology Piece

The Trading Psychology course covers this in depth — but the short version is this: your biggest enemy in a funded evaluation is the urge to make back a loss immediately. That urge has ended more evaluations than any bad strategy.

When you take a loss, step away. Come back the next session. The market will still be there.

Community Results

Members of the Yoohaanan community have passed evaluations at Funded Trader, Fortunes Funding, Nova Funding, Funding Pips, MyFundedFX, and SurgeTrader. The results are on the Success Stories page.

The process works. The question is whether you will follow it.
